Default H9 Sukhoi Questions.

In the process of building for this year. Using a ZDZ80rv-j. Not sure sure how far out to mount engine to give spinner/prop clearance. Could someone give me their spinner backplate to firewall measurement? Im shooting for around 1/8 inch spinner in front of cowl. Using 10/32 2" bolts to mount engine. Will these be strong enough? Any risk of stripping the dubro blind nuts? Im thinking it'l be strong enough. Planning on using 1 8611 servo for the rudder in the back. Could someone explain the benefits of this weird looking ignition switch to me (the one that came with the new 80 with the pin) I just dont get it. thanks.

You will have to use pull pull rudder and elevator to get the engine mounted that close.
With just pull pull rudder, the spinner will probably stick out 3 inches past the cowl.

Jrock I have 2 H9 Sukohi I can get the distance from firewall to spinner backplate tomorrow I would use 1/4 20 or 24 cap head bolts with lockwasher and locktight on threads you can put rudder servo in the rear but you will need A lot of weight up front to ballance it I put mine on pull pull cant help you on single pin ignition call Mike at RC showcase.

Again, the Sukhoi CG in the manual is incorrect. There are many guys on RCU using the 80 in the Suk with no lead. I have a BME 102 in mine and I have a 5 ounce Hitec 5735 in the tail. No lead. You'll be fine. Use your batteries for CG adjustment.

"To all who have or are considering getting the Hangar 9 SU-31 Sukhoi:

After receiving several calls saying the model comes out tail heavy, I
rechecked the CG and found that the location indicated in our manual is
incorrect . The correct cg location is 13/16" behind the CENTER of the wing
tube for precision flying, and approximately 1/2" to 3/4" behind that for
all 3D flying.
Balancing at these locations will make the model balance much easier and
should not require any nose weigh unless a very lightweight engine is used.
Balancing any farther forward than the above mentioned CG locations will
result in an is excessively nose heavy model.

Sorry for the confusion on this".

I'll try it when I get a chance. It's out in the trailer.
