Restroom conversations
I had a doctor's appointment last Friday morning. Now I live out in the sticks, and it is an hour drive to the doctor's. Great if you fly RC, bad if you need a doctor. Anyway, the appointment was at 9:00 a.m. and I had been drinking coffee on the drive so by the time I got to his office I needed to visit the restroom prior to the waiting room. As I turn down the hall towards the restroom door I see the dreaded yellow caution cone in front of the restroom door. I'm thinking great, I don't think I can hold it much longer. Just as I got to the door it opened and a woman in a white uniform came out. Without thinking I asked,"Are you through in there?"
Well, she was a nurse, not the janitor, and she was coming out of the lady's restroom. I apologized and told her I would visit the optometrist after my podiatrist. She didn't say anything but the look she gave told me she was thinking I maybe should stop by the psychiatrist instead.
The second incident occurred at Home Depot. While standing at a stall an employee came in and started up a conversation with a fellow employee "seated" in a booth. They were talking about the party they had attended the previous evening, discussing various aspects of the festivities. After completing my business I was just outside the restroom at my cart deciding which way to go when the "standing" employee opened the door and over his shoulder told his buddy,"That was fun. We'll have to do that again". A third employee, female, standing in the tile department responded without missing a beat, "I've always wondered about you two!"
