Stuart Mackay Models?
Any comments good or bad? They look awesome, all fiberglass with Carbon Fiber and a low price. The weight on their Sukhoi is like 30 pounds at a 104" wingspan. I never hear anyone talk about them so I was curious if they suck or not... -Steve

I said the plane was awesome not the weight. Besides that is not bad for a fiberglass plane calculated with a 9 pound engine. The Aeroworks Sukhoi is like a foot shorter and a few inches less on wingspan than the SM Sukhoi and it weights like 25 pounds with a small engine. So for 3-5 more pounds you get a highly detailed plane that is exact scale with panel lines, rivets and Carbon gear that is all one piece moulded together with the wheel pants like the real one. -Steve

Chris?
What are you talking about? Those pictures you posted are SU-26's not the SU-31... The 26 does not have wheel pants but the SU-31 does. The Stuart Mackay Models Sukhoi is the 31 variant. Oh yeah and the SMM SU-31 has wheel pants which can be converted to spatlets like below... ON THE SU-31 VERSION

I have been working with Stuart on one of the Sukhoi kits for the RCS 215 engine. They have been very helpful, the only real issue is the cost of importing a single kit. If someone was interested in a group purchase contact me. Chris [email protected]

Have you ever see a Kyosho Sukhoi? Just look at those pictures, because that is the same scheme. Just realize that the full scale has a darker red than it looks like on the Kyosho plane. If I am to ever get the SMM Sukhoi I would do it in that yellow and red scheme. -Steve

Mackay Sook
Hi Guys here is a pic to show that we just dont sell em, but also fly em too!!
SU31 owner/builder Dick Hales on right and me on the left, engine running and about to make the first flight. Pic was taken today at Ellough Airfield, near Beccles, Suffolk, England, a wartime 8th AF base, and now used for private aviation.
Dick has used the Mackay 215 radial and this spins a Menz 32/18 at 4300 rpm and has unlimited vertical performance. Most flying was flown at 1/4-1/3 throttle and there was no trim changes required
Aircraft will have decals applied once test flying has been completed.
