I would like some opinions about this plane... because I am in the right of a order process, and in doubt about the final WET weight.

I got a 3W150TS for the plane... and its should have enough pulling power?

Whats the weight of duralites, and whats the price?

FMG recomends a 3w-200b2. This plane is quite a bit bigger than a 40% Extra...

Only thing I didn't like about the kit I've seen is the canopy is of solid carbon fiber. A pilot and instrument panel is no option.

Carl heinz says that a 150 is enough. if I can keep the weight at 44 it should be enough, but if it exeeds the weight I get a ZDZ 210 for the plane.

But I think its possible to make it at 44lb, Carls says that Jürgens model model with a 150 is at 43,7lb WET with airbrush coat and 1 time clear coat.

Hi Kasper

My name is Reginald (Reg) and I live in Miami Florida; I have the same Raven with a 3w 150 and It weighs about 42-43 lbs. It will do anything you want with this motor. My 14 yr old son flies it very well and he will hover it 10 feet off the ground with no fear.

Good luck Reg

Hey Reg.

You were the first american i heard about, who had a FMG in US.

the weight 43lb. is it with or without fuel?

Do you have a smokesystem?

Whats kind of equipment do you have in the plane? -servos and such.

Did you weight the kit when you got its, without anything?

Regards Kasper

Hi Kasper

I was in the process of writing you a long three page response to your last post and I was almost finished with it and I lost my internet connection. Every thing was gone. Boy was I upset. Any way, a quick history on my Raven. About 2 or 3 yrs ago Carl Heinz brought the Raven all the way from Germany to display it in the Toledo Ohio hobby show which takes place once a year and is the biggest event of this type in the US. carl hung the plane from this 30 ft high ceiling in the auditorium. My friend Mannie Sanchez from Miami was there , fell in love with the plane, bought it and brought it home. He had it for a year or so, flew it a few times and got tired of it and sold it to me. Now he flys mostly jets. If you want mor specific info on the plane try and ask Carl since he built the plane and then if you need more info ask me. The plane is designed very similar to an edge 540. They are both mid wing, and the both have that same Straight leading edge. That is the secret, the straight leading edge. Nothing flys like an edge accept another edge. Well, the Raven is the same. No bad habbits. It will land at walking speed. It will fall out of the sky before it will dip or drop a wing on landing. Nothing like it..............
Anyway, Kasper, I am tired and I have to get some rest. We will talk tomorrow.

All my best Reg

The company makes these starters for many different types of engines.

BTW, I just started my ZDZ 210 for the first time today, using the starter, and man it is amazing. And this engine with the K&S mufflers ( I thought they were VW mufflers when I got them) is very quiet. Will do more running later this week.

Hi Kasper

I tried to to send you the pictures yesterday but I suppose they didn`t go through. Tomorrow I will have my son assist me, he is more computer literate than I am, he is 14 yrs old, and he is a gifted pilot and he gives me the flying lessons. I fly ok but more conservative.

I know i am a little late to reply to this but i will n e way, i also own an fmg raven, it is a 33% powered by a 3w 100, custom built canisters, all 8611 servos and flies beatufully!!! The painting and monokoting was done by stan stockman of cutting edge graphics. This was actually my first "big" airplane, if n e one is still interested in another raven my sponser for imac is a hobby shop and he has a raven that has not been built and i forgot the exact size but i think it is between a 40 and 45% airplane.

Hi

Your raven looks beautiful. All FMG products fly superb.....I have been trying to get in touch with Karl Heinz in Germany because I bought a new fuselage from him, and I paid him but he has not sent the fuselage, and now he won`t answer my emails. I need to find some one in Germany that could call him for me and find out what is going on. Anyway, good luck.
