Sizing a flight pack, question.
Anybody know of a good rule of thumb for sizing a flight pack.
I am buying a battery for the first time in a long while, and am thinking
of a NimH pack. But, how big?
The model is a 80 Stinger with a large rudder servo.
Dual elevator and aileron plus one on throttle.
Standard JR servos approx 70 oz in.

RE: Sizing a flight pack, question.
since nobody has answered you i think i will try to help out. first thing you need to do is find out if your rx can handle a 6 volt battery. if it can i would go with a 6 volt 2000 mAh. that will give you suffishent power you would never have to worry about. if it cant handle 6 volts just use a 4.8 volt 2000 mAh since you are buying a battery anyway.

I just got some 2100 AA cell Nimh from Radical RC. He doesn't have them listed on his web sight so I had to call. Batterys America has them to. They weigh about the same as a 1650 AA. Make sure they are AA cell. They have other bigger cells that weigh more.

How many flights do you want out of it? I would think around 1000mah would be enough to fly for the day. Check out NoBS batteries and Hangtime hobbies. The 1400 mah would be way more than enough.
