Default Pictures Of The Extra

Well,

For some odd reason I've been wanting to take lots and lots of photo's here lately. Since the only digital camera we have Is my step-moms work camera, I rarely get to upload any. Tonight we went to the field, camera in hand, and I finally took some good shots. The planes, no matter how close in you fly, are not close enough to zoom into. Its hard to take a picture of my 103" Extra for 15 ft on the ground. So until I get a good digi cam with a better zoom, they'll be stills. But without further delay, here they are!

P.S. Uploaded a pic of dad s trainer for good measure! Oh and a picture of me with it!

It's not as big as yours, but here's my extra. It's the Sig Extra 300XS with a BCMA-SPE 40

I've always liked the look of those Sig Kits! Looks awesome

dragonfly, any pitures of the progress on the P-51?

For anyone not familiar with the plane, it's an Extreme Aircraft Extra 300L. 103" WS, 98" length. I'm running a 3W 106 Comp. for power with Hitec servo's throughout

WOW! Now that's alot of plane. Very nice looking too, by the way. I' m new to gas and bigger planes. Just flew mine for the third time today. I'm not doing anything fancy with it yet, just getting used to it, but I can tell you it has enough to do whatever. It weighs in at 12 pounds 9 ounces dry, and has 18 pounds 6 ounces static thrust.(only about 1/2 gallon through it, and not the best prop) I have a Mens Ultra 20X8 on it's way. Should put me just over 20 pounds.
I'm a Futaba man myself, running S9252 on ailerons and elevators, S9151 on rudder, and S3151 on throttle and ignition switch(can turn ignition on or off manually or with switch on radio)

Yeah I think i see a Zinger on there? I haven't had great luck with them. With wood I've converted to the NX G3 series, I don't know if they're offered in 20" lengths though. THis is my first gasser and it's absolutly awesome, I don't want/need another glow! I like Futaba's Radio's and Recievers, but I like Hitecs servo's, nice and strong, yet affordable

You guessed it, 20X8 ProZinger it was the best my LHS had, so ordered online from DA.
Yes the Futaba digitals are high $, but I have always had good service out of them, and that's what I trust.(just my opinion. to each there own right?)
Bob

PS Not just my first big plane and gasser, but my first step up from a trainer, so it's a pretty big step. But, I guess I'm doing alright, because I have not crashed it.(hope it stays that way)

Yeah that's definately a big step. At least it's going well. My step went: Trainer, Utra Stick Lite, now this. Haha so I know how you feel!
