I think it depends on which 35% yak you are talking about, what it weighs, etc, etc.

I would say it would be ok if you used a zdz super 80 and full length pipe. I have flown the 75cc version (as recent as yesterday) with a super 80 and stock mufflers and while it does have plenty of power, it is not ballistic. It weighs about 24lbs dry. So, IMO the only way you are going to get good performance out of the 100cc yak with a 80, is by using the super 80 and full pipe as it will make a tad more power than a DA 100 on stock mufflers. However, if you run a can or stock muffler I would say no way. You would also have to do everything possible to keep it light, ie carbon gear, wingtube, simple electronics setup, etc. Would I do it? No, I would put a 100cc at minimum on it. But, a super 80 on a pipe will fly it good, just not ballistic, stock muffer forget about it.

Jon, according to Dick H it does on a mejzlik 27x10, and believe his setup is not even set for max rpm. Its amazing how much power a true tuned setup will add.

profile540, if you goal is only 3D, forget de super ZDZ-80 and go for BME 115 or a strong 100CC twin with canisters in a 35%, 25-27 lbs plane.

If you're on budget, go with the super ZDZ80 and any 33% in 22-24 lbs will be a perfect match for 3D.

Don't forget the Yaks have more drag than other planes and you'll need more power for the same weight to get out of troubles quickly
