Default 3W tanks

I would like to hear about your experiences (pros and cons) with the 3W (51 oz) tank.

Thanks

Rob

I've used them in my last 3 40% planes with no problems at all! No worries of rubber
stoppers coming out with these tanks. I really like their filter/clunk.

Thanks Boatnik,

Did you do anything special to keep the cap from unscrewing?

How did you mount the round tank?

Thanks again,

Rob

I made a couple of ply mounts in a half round shape to cradel the tank, one at the front one at the back. I use zip ties to hold tank in place.
Just make a squar mount, cut a hole in it the same dia. as tank, split this in half and there you have it.

After the first couple tanks I would check and tighten if needed. I never
had one loosen after that. You can make a couple tick marks with a Sharpie
on the tank and cap to have a visual if loosening is happening.

You can get the rectangular version of these bottles from Fisher scientific and then just buy the klunk kit from AI

I have one that the builder stretched a couple of rounds of electrical tape around the cap/bottle. It will not unscrew like that.
