I'm impressed to see how the stabs attach to the fuse. 2 bolts into blind nuts, it appears from looking at the pics on your link. Loads better than running a screw into an aluminum tube.
Is it REALLY free shipping to USA? If so, thats a pretty good price.

Great price but no stock. Did you guys check out he composite extra? That is a beutifull paint job but the price does not seem competetive with comp-arf 2.1 extra.

Nice one...
Combine that with a DL-50, you have a 50cc plane and motor for $810...sweet
One thing that I noticed though is that it doesn't have aluminum angle blocks for re-inforcing the landing gear area that the EF planes do.
Wonder how strong this area will be ???

I ordered my combo with the DL 50 last week. I don't have it yet. I read the instruction manual you can download off the site. One of the pics (page 73 of the manual) actually shows Aero from I am assuming Aeroworks on the side of the fuse. I ordered Hitech 5645s from obrienhobbies at $45 each. Plane, DL 50 and servos 1 grand. Misc $100.00 I think this plane will cost 1,100 without receiver. This will be my first gasser. exciting.

RE: Peak Models Yak
I got the plane and DL 50 today. It is in excellent shape. Some things that i noticed that are different from the instruction manual: The striping on the bottom of the wing is slightly different. The hinges are not pre glued per the instruction manual however all the hinge pins are pre drilled. The control horns are different, probably better. The landing gear looks better, it is now rounded as opposed to strait. The plane looks the same on the outside however the structure of the plane on the inside is different to include the firewall which is now larger. The fuel tank looks smaller, it is 550CC. There is no clear ultra cote to seal the hinge gaps (I was going to use packing tape anyway) I am actually impressed with how well the ultra cote looks. Usually when i get a plane i have to spend hours working out the bubbles, this looks almost perfect. I thought the plane had guides for the pull pull system out the rear of the fuse however it doesn't so i guess i will have to figure that out when i get there. I can't speak for how it flies yet but it sure looks good. The motor looks like an inexpensive version of the DA 50. Not nearly the same amount of bling but for half the price who is complaining. I will try to get some pics on this weekend. This is the second plane I have ordered from peakmodel. The first was a 70" edge 540 which met an untimely death when my saito 150 deadsticked in a hover at 30 feet. I thought both planes were high quality especially for the price. I would order from peakmodel without hesitation and no i do not work for them.

RE: Peak Models Yak
I flew mine last weekend & had to move everything to the nose & add about 6 ozs of extra weight. But it flew great & the engine had no problems. I'm still getting it trimmed out & breaking in the engine & can't wait until this weekend again. You have to mount the control surfaces which are already predrilled out & fit the cowl. It's not pre fitted. But the canopy is finished & everything else fits fine. Yes, it is $719.00 shipped to the USA. I ordered mine on a Monday & received it on Friday in Fla. It is shipped from Hong Kong by US mail.

RE: Peak Models Yak
Did you guys notice that the advertised weight of this plane is 13.2 lbs? Is this remotely possible seeing that the AW is 16.5 to 17.5 lbs?

RE: Peak Models Yak
It weighs 18.5 - 19 lbs and has multiple problems. The landing gear is too far back so it has a tendency to tip forward on landing. The CG is too far back so with the DL50 you have to add a heavy spinner and at least 8 ounces of weight to balance it. Don't buy it. The motor runs good though.

RE: Peak Models Yak
Does anyone have any photos?
How does it fly?
From the ones ive seen the undercariage is in a normal place, in front of cg. What equipment have you got in it to make it so heavy? looking t the pictues, it looksa light build.
Anyone else got any weight readings?
Any videos? Does it fly stable? Much wing rocking in elevator?
