What engine are you going to be putting in yours? I'm thinking of ordering a plane for my Roto 70V2 twin that I can't seem to sell.

I think all I need to get now is a spinner, and batteries/regulator/switches, and any servo extensions.... I'm waiting on a spinner until I know how it balances.

I think Kevin JUST received them in the last day or two. He called me last night and took my Visa info, and he said he wanted to start shipping Friday or Monday. Send him an email or give him a call.

RE: The ALL NEW Dietrich 75cc Extra 260
wow, I almost preordered one of these. glad I held off, I am just a sport pilot just starting to dabble a bit in 3d. When I saw this pane announced I loved the looks and the new building techniques, but That said I went with smaller 50cc size airframe and have been having a blast. I hope a few of you that ordered one of these great looking planes will share your build and pass on some unbiased thoughts on the quality and craftsmanship of this plane. I spent my rainy day money on the 50cc plane, but I am still looking forward to reading a nice build thread on this plane.
Anyone got theirs yet or even a shipping notification?

Adrenalin...I had asked Kevin about shipping his 50cc to me back in September. He said if I put $50 down he'd offer free shipping (I still have the email to prove it). Well, 8 months later the planes finally show up and he won't give me the free shipping. So I basically waited 8 months for no reason. Oh well, Aero-Works seems to offer better support.

Honestly, I have NOT read anything mind blowing from the peeps that have received them. From the pics they look to be a grade or two above Nitro...at best

That's really to bad, myself I would order a lot more out of the US but between shipping, brokerage fees and taxes everything gets to be too expensive and then you have to worry about it arriving with no damage to boot. Aeroworks seems to be the way to go for us. How's Yellowknife anyways, haven't been in that neck of the woods since 1991 when I was in Dawson City gold mining for two years.

Great Hobbies sells the aeroworks 75cc for $1000 CAD shipped, plus gst and customs i'm sure. I'm lucky as the company i work for has brokers who can handle it, and can just payroll deduct the cost (at a reasonable rate). Great Hobbies is out of both Edmonton and PEI. As for YK, lots more than Gold going on here now, just about every mineral and gas exploration now.

Tbis is the latest post from a buyer building one of these new Dietrich 75cc on the FG site:
Re: The ALL NEW Official Dietrich 75cc Extra 260
I preordered the Dietrich before Xmas last year. After the third delay on the Dietrich aircraft I called Aeroworks and ordered the 75CC on a Monday, it arrived that thurs. My Aeroworks is ready for it's maiden.
I did not cancel the Dietrich order because I had a 3W-75 waiting for a home. After working on the Dietrich 75cc aircraft I wish I had canceled the order. Despite the wrong scheme I was wiling to build the aircraft and hopefully will have a great flyer.
I have not yet finished the Dietrich, but during the build I have had a chance to examine in great detail all of the aspects of the Dietrich manufacturing. This is what I have found so far (Sorry Dietrich):
The build quality is quite decent and fairly well done.
The covering, although it looks quite good, detail analysis shows poor adhesion and patchwork covering. After gong over the wings with an iron to seal the edges and shrink things up, I realize that the covering material is not ultracote as I hoped. It is something else, and I have my doubts whether it is going to work or not. Before it is all said and done I bet I will have to pull the covering off and redo it(bummer).
The hardware is a waste of time. Chunked all of the harware and replaced with some hanger9 stuff.
Alot of time saving steps were not done, so it was left to me to install blind nuts for the canopy. I will have to double up one of the cowl attachemt holes and install a blind nut there also, I am sure this was an oversight, but is an issue of quality.
None of the holes are cut in the fuselage for wing tube, ant-rotation dowel, wing retainer bolts, stab tube, anti-rotation on stab or servo extension holes. This is not dificult but just a pain.
The new ply sandwiched foam build up of the fuselage is light and strong. I have not tested the foam for resistance to gas or cynoacrylate. But the extra thickness in the fuselage sides means that you will have to obtain longer screws to attach your switches as the stock switch screws will not pass through the fuse side(Sh@!t).
In the final analysis, I should have went with Aeroworks, I won't make that mistake again.
My experience with this airframe so far might be different than others. If anyone has a different experience with this airframe I would be interested in hearing your assessment of the aircraft.
Will I do another Dietrich Aircraft?? Probably not.
MR G

RE: The ALL NEW Dietrich 75cc Extra 260
Justin,
My advise would be to go to Aeroworks(same price).
The Dietrich aircraft is a good aircraft, but lacks the quality and refinement that the Aeroworks airplanes have.

Yeah but the AW doesn't fly quite like a Dietrich, I am sorry you guys don't like it.
Here is a link to one of the guest pilot flights on it, http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=41145805 The plane flies off the hook, it is one of the best mid size birds I have flown and I have flown them all.
