Default Mounting ZDZ 80....

Just received my mounts from a japanese friend and was wondering if anyone has used a similiar style of mounts? These will be going into a H9 Sukhoi. The mounts weigh around 2oz a piece, machine from billet aluminum.

Look good to me...

Do you bolt thru them and into blind nuts in the firewall or do you attach these to the firewall, then the momo to the mount.

Those look really good.

Mine are made out of red wood and are very light.

Default Actually he is making...

me another pair that will mount directly to the holes for the GT 80 that were already there. Then the ZDZ will mount to these with the correct spacing for the mounting lugs. He's making two different sizes so I will be able to unscrew 4 bolts and swap the ZDZ from the Sukhoi to the H9 CAP 232 in about 5 minutes.

If I was to use them, they would bolt to the firewall then the engine would bolt to these. The holes are perfectly aligned to the mounting holes on the ZDZ 80, 6 mm thread. He is currently making me a set that will bolt directly to the stock holes on the firewall, then the engine will bolt onto this. Sort of like these but modified to fit the H9 firewall holes.

Default here's the mounts...

I am going to use. They bolted right into the stock blind nuts and then the ZDZ 80 bolted right to them. These are on a H9 CAP 232 but I have an identical set although shorter for my H9 Sukhoi

Default WOW!!!

Flew it on sunday for 3 breakin flights on the ZDZ 80. It has more power at half throttle then the Gt 80 at full power. Can't wait till I can do some 3D with it. With the mounts my friend made me she balanced perfect with no weight needed and all the radio gear mounted per the manual. Can't wait to try the ZDZ in my sukhoi now.

Great! Since the cap is lighter than the sukhoi I bet it is fun! I have a vid of my sukhoi on my prop website below, look for the super sukhoi video!

Good luck!

Default Well the CAP

is longer with us. Full elevator stall into the ground and the only thing salvageable was the rudder, one wing and the left stab and elevator. The ZDZ 80 was on its fifth flight, it survived intact. Will put it on the Sukhoi this week and fly it on friday. But I definitely like the power of the ZDZ, and it should get better, it only has about 50 minutes of run time on it.

Bummer!! The sukhoi will not be as nimble with the zdz as its heavier. But still does alot.
