RE: Extreme Flight__88
I've got probably about 8-10 gallons through my Edge now. I'm liking it more and more. It is an absolute treat to fly.
Here is a video from last weekend with some footage of my Edge in it.

I think I'm going to get one of these. I have everything for it. Servos, tuned pipe, RL-58 engine, A123 battery, receiver, everything....but the airplane. EF is out of them...
Thanks
Barry

YaHooooooooo.,....
I just got an email from Extreme Flight. They said the planes are due in on Friday....I ordered one. I have a RL58 or DLE55 to put on it. Not sure yet which I'm gonna do. But in a couple of weeks I should have one and start on it. Looking forward to it.
Thanks
Barry

Good video, Dave....and Kudos to you for the belly-in hovering! I just can NOT do it. I've done so many tail touches I bent my rudder servo arm, but I still can't get more than one torque roll before it falls out.

Oh, I've got a Xoar 23x8 white and red sword that's going to go on my plane soon. I bought a Xoar with a faulty hub a few months ago. I know the hub was faulty because I tightened the prop down with nothing but using the short end of the allen wrench and it just crushed. It never put up any resistance. I e-mailed them about it and they sent me this one. I've only flown my plane with a 22x8 so far, and am excited to try the 23x8 if it's as much of a difference as people have said.

You're killing me here.....
I can't wait to get this thing and start building it. It's always funt to build a new plane.
I'm certainly hoping to get this baby flying before winter. Best case....3rd week in October. We should have a few weeks of tolerable weather still....I hope.
Thanks
Barry

RE: Extreme Flight__88
Right now....this is what I'm thinking.
RL58 Engine (left over from my Sbach, runs pretty good) (has 2 hrs break in and another 1 hr flight time, until I gave the plane to my friend Richard)
RE2 MTW tuned pipe with header
23x8 Prop, (NX)
HS7955 on all control surfaces
HS4XX on throttle
A123 2300mA battery for radio
1600 mA 4.8 NiMH battery for iginition
G2 14Ch Futaba 72 receiver
14MZ Futaba radio 72
3.5" graphite spinner or 4" Ultimate spinner, depending on balance requirements
I have all the above in stock and waiting for the plane.
Based on almost identical set up in my Yak (DLE55 vs RL58) this should have good performance.
I'm hoping to get a faster flat spinning plane than the EF Yak. More like the Reactor or Sbach for my taste. (although I'm getting a pretty good flatspin out of the Yak now, just hoping for better)
I'm hoping maybe it'll ship tomorrow...but I haven't heard yet. Only hoping.
Thanks
Barry

RE: Extreme Flight__88
mine has batteries kinda forward, id go with the Ultimate spiner if its a tad heavier, i really like the way mine looks on there too...as for spins, this thing spins tigher and faster than my yak did, especially KE spins, they are wrapped up tighter than a frogs *****

<meta charset="utf-8">
It's called a Pop-Top. You start with left aileron - add down elevator and right rudder - then neutralize the aileron and elevator. Cjcyclesrc has been working on it for a while, apparently. I think the information is on page 8 of the forum. I made the same comment about the same move in an earlier video, and it's much lower and more impressive in the earlier video.

Here is the best way I know to describe it.
First off the maneuver requires a lot of energy. So you need to enter it with a lot of speed and be careful not to bleed off to much energy when you pull vertical. Now that you have a lot of speed going vertical you have to transfer that speed into rotation. Start it by quickly giving full left aileron. If you let the plane roll to long you'll loose to much energy and if you don't get enough of a roll the plane won't spin right. As the plane starts to roll add right rudder and down elevator. That swings the tail. You need to back out of the Throttle as the tail starts to swing out. The key to get it to flatten out is the Ailerons. You have to initiate the roll with left aileron then as the tail swings out neutralize the ailerons. Once the tail is up you have to hit full right aileron to flatten it out. If you don't the plane will spin that looks a little like a knife edge spin. Once the plane is upright with the wings level you can neutralize the ailerons and elevator and let it spin. The better you maintain the energy the more rotation you'll get.
