Default thrust anglepic

I am building my first gas plane... slipstream 30cc MXS... all my nitro ARF's already had the engine mounting screws correct in position with thrust angle compensation... this kit doesn't have that... how does it work? what angle's should I use? pics or graphs would be nice...

I was actually not talking about the thrust angle, thought this was the thrust angle... the problem is I don't have pre-drilled engine mount holes... see the arrow, should my engine shaft be in the center of that and then I can measure and drill my holes? or how does this work? this is what my firewall looks like from front...

There should have been a mounting template for whatever engine your using. Are you using gas/glow/electric?

said in my first post gas... this is the most stupid kit ever... no templates... building manual is so unclear also... but do I just line it up with center of the hole?

The fire wall should be 2 or 3 degrees of right thrust and that's why the cross hare is off center with the circle. If you center the mounting bolts on the cross hare then the right thrust of the fire wall will center the front of the engine with the cowl.

Why call the kit stupid?, this is one of the first main building blocks you learn (before ARF came along)

Switch, just be patience and enjoy your built, if you dont do that, you will do everything wrong. The airplane should have the "cross" and the center hold, most of the time is to pass the fuel lines and carburator clearence.

What engine are you putting on the airplane? so maybe we can help you getting a template from the web. Most of the time, people print them and align the cross of the template to the corss on the firewall and then drill it, is that simple. Hope this pictures helps...is you looks close on the firewall there is the cross line market, thats all you need.

To figure how much offset you need, just take the sin of the angle, and multiply that number by the firewall to spinner plate distance. For example: if you had a 3 degree thrust angle and a 5 inch firewall to spinner distance, you would have: sin 3.0 degrees = .052, and .052 x 5 inches = .26 inches offset.

all that is built into firewall... all I needed to know was where to drill... those lines suggest where to measure from according to my engine views... I have mounted the engine already... but this kit is giving lots of headache's... if I compare it to the ease of Goldwing...

Ok Switch, I built the prototype. Straight forward and simple, what are you having problems with?
