Dang, if the thing would have quite during sequence practice but NO. I looks like the black wire broke at the DA battery plug. This plug provides no strain relief. I thought it was all tied down very well. I don't have before pics so just take my word for it. Good thing is it wasn't moving very fast so damage is mostly the motor box. I have attached some pics. Check your wires!

I think the giant scale gods were watching over you today! Can you say LUCKY. Looks like it can be repaired. It's a miracle that the rest of the airframe received so little damage.

Yeah, I'd say you were lucky!

Isn't it possible the power wire was broken during the crash, I mean with all the motor box damage it looks like a possibility.

I believe it's rather common for the engine's to quit in hover from over heating. I have seen this happen numerous times. The tune-up is not quite right generally, other times baffling solves the problem.

The ingnition modual and plug was secured to the motor box. This area stayed together. It was baffled. I have hovered many hours before with no trouble.

I was hovering at about 50 feet when my engine burbled badly. Needless to say that scared the crap outta me, no more hovering that day!

Hope you get back up soon man. It didn't damage the motor any did it?

Luck wasn't the only thing on his side. Carden has proven to be stronger than most airframes out there and withstands accidents like this fairly well. I've seen another flame out in a hover zero mistakes high and it came out with the same damage. If the airframe was an AW or a TBM there's a good possibility it would be totalled for sure. Please don't start any flaming over that, just my opinion.
