Hangar 9's new offering has caught my eye. Very sleek scale looking plane. I ordered one on Friday. I'm still thinking about if I want to put a DLE 35RA on the business end or use an Eflite power 160 and do an electric setup. I guess I'll make up my mind ounce I get the plane our of the box for a closer look. Anyone else looking at this plane?

I'm using a Master Airscrew 15/7 three blade on my DLE 20 and I think it is worth it...but a prop for a DLE35...hummmm, don't even know who makes them - Xoar maybe?

Tailskid,
Looks like your three blade prop on your plane has seen a lot of use. Once I receive my Cirrus I'll post some pics and any issues I find. I probably won't do a build thread as work is getting in the way but I will post pics of my progress from time to time. The hobby Shop said they are due in on May 3.

The amount of ground clearance is small and I fly off a dirt field, so yes, that prop gets 'sanded' quite often if I don't grease the landing.

My Pulse had a bit of a nose over problem until I moved the gear forward a bit .. Have you had that problem with yours? Even when I used full up elevator when taxing I would often hit a small hole or deeper grass or whatever and over it would go... It would be hard on the prop .. After I moved the gear forward a bit no more nose overs...Some guys turn the gear around but I prefer the look of it swept back...

Yes the gear is a bit soft but fortunately it is so easy to land that coming down hard doesn't happen often . But it does happen .. I really love the pulse and would replace it if I ever dorked it.. Next time with a DLE20 I think...

My new DLE 35RA is on its way. That gives me enough time to get the engine on my test stand and get it fire up and tweaked out before my Cirrus shows up. I'm not sure about the servos the manual shows as 7 of the 9 required are not metal gear. I use nothing but metal gear servos on all my gassers. I'll have to see what Hitec has to offer.

Aparently the Cirrus is still a month away down here in Australia, so I,m relying on you guys for updates, lovely lines & a fibreglass fuselage has to add to the life span, no fuel residue getting into the body work. No electricery for me. Its as much about the sound as the model itself.
I,m a big fan of a 4 stroke sound in models, trouble is finding something with enough power to fit under the hood. I have the Hanger 9 Taylorcraft with the English Laser V twin 2 cu in motor, about 33cc, they run like clockwork, sound great & cost the same as equivelent size Saito or OS engines, but in my experience are ultra reliable, if more expensive than a petrol motor, but just so much better sounding.

Hi All,
I had the smaller Great Planes Cirrus sr22 and I found it to be lacking. Because of the nose gear angle it was prone to having the nose gear "tuck under" on anything less than a perfect landing. This would cause the plane to flip onto its back or ground loop. This was on smooth asphalt. The internal bulkhead that the nose gear block was attached to was not well thought out and continuously failed even on the gentlest landings. I never sucessfully landed it on grass at all. Granted the plane you are looking at is bigger and may have different design features. I would take extra time to study and reinforce the nose gear support inside the model. My Cirrus met its end when I tried a spin only to have it not recover from it. I have been flying R/C for about 40yrs now.
Good Luck with your Cirrus and take care

My Cirrus SR22T came in today. The plane looks awesome and it is very impressive looking. There are a couple spots on the fiber glass that could have been better but I'll give it a 9 out of 10. The covering on the wings and stab looks great without any wrinkles. The dry fit of the wings and stab looks good with no issues of alignment. Both doors open very nicely and there are no fit issues. The silver paint on the cowl matches the fuse pretty close. Very satisfied so far. More to come.
