Default Top flight giant scale corsair kit

Hello,
I have always dreamed of having a nice plane I could build with a radial. I do fly Jets and have flown war birds however none of them ever had a radial.
I'm planning on buying the Giant scale Corsair Kit TF to build and would like to put a radial in it. However since I'm so green to radial engines I would appreciate your help/ guidance in selecting a radial engine. I see there are gas and nitro available. I'm happy to listen to your opinions and expertise in this topic so please include the reason why you would think one is preferred over the other. Please keep this civil and not an all out war of brand vs brand. Everyone has an opinion and I would like to heir it.
Thank you.
Ivan

I have this kit with the Saito 450r3, once I converted the engine to glow ignition I'm happy with the combination.

To my knowledge the Saito 450R3 was always a glow motor. Do you mean you converted it to gas/petrol ?

No, CH ignitions makes a glow ignition kit for it. I never could get the cylinders to balance well on glow, once I added the ignition it runs fine.

Sounds good. Did you get the full gas conversion or did you leave it running on methanol?
Did the engine fit in the cowl without any part of the cylinders or covers sticking out of the cowl?

I run it on methanol. I ordered the fiberglass specialties F4U-4 cowl. The engine fits with out any cut outs.

Just in case you are interested, I have a brand new Saito 450 radial that I have been thinking about selling. CH ignitions make a very nice ignition set up for this engine if you decide to go that way.
Let me know if you are interested and I will get some pics off to you

Thanks,
paul
