I've been sitting on the 33% plans for a while now, and have decided to build this winter. Went to Precision Fiberglass Products site to order the cowl and spats and, oh no!, they've sold the mold. Stan's Fibertech website seems to be a dead horse as well! Anyone know if there is someone out there producing these parts? Or, does anyone have a set that they would be willing to sell me?

Thanks for the comments but decided to rebuild my wing bracket, so the angles are exactly according to fuse side on the plan and not like the profile on the other sheet that shows the wing struts. That one has a different angle.
Anyway, just wanted to ask you all Bucker owners. How long does it take you to put this plane together in the field? I noticed in some old posts, that most of you keep the wing halves together. Well, my problem is the space in the car.
I can fit the fuse but wings would have to be somehow folded in pairs or simply use hundreds of screws to assemble the whole thing. Have you guys got some clever ideas to make this field assembly quicker or do you simply use 20 nuts and bolts?
I would appreciate your comments.

Brad, I just looked at Stan's Fiber Tech ( http://home.pacbell.net/jluckey/SFT/products.html ) and they list what you need under Arizona Models. Apparently if Precision Fiberglass Products sold the molds then someone plans to make parts with them. Did you ask them who they sold the molds to?

If you can find the parts then I suggest that you order them as soon as possible.

Viliam, it takes me about 15 minutes to assemble my Jungie at the field with 16 screws. Sorry I can't help you with your space problem. I haul mine in a Ford F-150 long bed pickup. It's against the law in Texas to not have a pickup truck. If I had to assemble all 4 wings at the field, with all that hardware, I would sell the plane. The sun would be setting before I got it all together. Wish I could be more help.

You could make 2 trips to the field and 2 trips home.

Actually,now I'm not so sure that I did have an old address. Stansfibertech.com says that they are relocating and to check back for updates. That was dated Oct. '09! Will call tomorrow and check.

I have had quite a runaround concerning Precision Fiberglass. I am building an Effinger 1/3 scale Cessna 170. I ordered theplans, short kit and cowling through WE Technical Enterprises/ Got the plans, eventually the short kit, and one excuse after another from WET. I started looking elsewhere, including Stan's Fibertech. They have changed to another name, but a link takes you there. I did send them an email last week and got a prompt reply. Try it. I will try and give you more info on my next post.

Two addresses for Stan's. One in Illinois and one in California. Emailed both, the Ca. email address came back undeliverable and the phone number doesn't work. The Il. email address seems to be valid but no response yet, and that phone number doesn't work either. Not having much luck. curious which email address you used cjtyped.

I think I used the IL one. He also did not getRIGHT back to me, but within a week. I expect people have other responsibilities than model planes, so I am patient.
I ordered my Cessna cowl through WE Technical enterpises in January and no cowling yet. Nuff said.

I got back from a trip to San Diego Sunday afternoon and one of the highlights of the trip was a visit to Gillespie Field to visit John and the Jungmeister that I modeled mine after. John told me that there are 11 Buckers on the field, 3 Jungmeisters and 8 Jungmanns. More than any other field in the United States. John and his dad have 3 of the Jungmanns and a pristine J3 Cub. Here are some of the photos that I took. John is in the white shirt and the lady is my fiancée Joyce.

Looking for dummy radial engine for 1/3 GA Bucker. Bob Dively appears to be out of business as he is not responding to e mails. Do you know anything about Dively's

Bob Dively Models is alive and doing business. Just has a tight screening on in-coming e mails. Title needs to be Dummy Radial, otherwise it goes to his junk mail (wouldn't it be nice if junk mail did not exist)! Spoke with Bill on the phone earlier today (from Dively) and already have the paypal invoice. Just be persistent and things should happen. I just wanted correct my earlier post. Bigdaddy

Mike, what is a functioning u/c? If that means under carrage, I have one on my Jungmeister that is used to keep the prop from hitting the ground.

Hey Ken - yep the one's on the plan will keep it off the ground...but I wouldn't mind doing a fully sprung one. I had one on my 1/4 scale and it made a huge difference. Actually makes landings look pretty good!
I designed and built that one myself, but figured if Gary had designed it, it would be great (as is all the rest of his stuff), and would save me some brain? power.

I haven't posted here for a long time here is my 35% Bucker from Gary Allen. Yes you read right it's been enlarged from 33%. I know it's probably not much but it made the wing span 90" and still using same materials. I started this project way back if you look at some earlier posts but then it went on hold as I stopped building. The reason was I was going to put Moki 150 in the nose but unfortunately I got conned by a dodgy web site where I ordered the engine from and then lost all the money ($3000+)[&:]. Needless to say, this took my enthusiasm away and nearly quit the hobby. (I'm serious) Now I cooled off and got back into the building.

In answer to Misterbill, I did design a fully articulated landing gear for my 35% Jungmann. I basically copied the full scale design, and had the LG fabricated by Sierra Giant Models. It took a long time, but the workmanship is fantastic. Two sets were made, one for my friend and collaborator, Matt Chapman, and one for me. I have attached the plans from which Darrell of SGM worked. They have proven very robust. Check ot Matt's flight at on RCU's coverage of Top Gun 2010. He really tested them! I will upload a few photos in a another post.

Here are a few photos of Matt's and my Jungmann showing the LG droop in flight. Very characteristic. The Jungmann and Jungmeister LG are identical.

I do plan to make the 35% Jungmann plans available sometime this year, in some form. I am also planning on drawing 35% Jungmeister plans as well. There are so many common parts.

As mentioned, I know just how much difference it makes to a Jungmeister (especially in the air), so I'll be getting to it as soon as my big Neltz Cub is done. It's almost there.....just a few more weeks.....

Gary, that functional gear looks so good on the Jungmann and I'm sure it improves landings. Your Jungmann is a work of art.

Thought I'd post some info and pics about my Jungmeister rebuild project. It's a 30 percent scale up version of Dave Platt's 1/4 scale Jungmeister I drew and built back in 1990 when I was in Germany. U-60 is the Jungmeister hanging from the ceiling in the Verkersmuseum in Luzern, Switzerland which I got to see and take pics of back then. Flew it a couple a times then stored it until now.

Mice chewed inside the fuse and wings so I'm repairing that damage. I also decided to add a some "scale-like" details such as the windscreen and cockpit door panels and also try a functional landing gear setup. Replacing the Quadra 35 engine with a 50cc DA-50 clone. Now, I should state that I consider this to be a "fun" scale project any Bucker aficionado will be able to pick out the errors. But it is fun and I'm enjoying trying and learning some new scale detail techniques (and mistakes).

The gear is an experiment and since I don't have any brazing or welding equipment (or skills), I tried to do it with screws, solder and JB Weld. The oleo struts are 7/16" O.D., 0.047" thickness steel tubing from Aircraft Spruce & Specialty with hardware store compression springs inside, 5/16" steel rod gear legs. The swing arms are streamline tubing with 3/16" music wire inside and the upper brace arms are 3/16" music wire. The springs you can see in the pic are extension springs to limit over extension of the gear when unloaded in flight. I believe the geometry is pretty close to correct but I may have to adjust or shorten the oleo springs.
