Hey guys ...
I just purchased one of the Byron Pitts S1B planes. It has been sitting in someone's garage for a couple of years after having crashed it. The damage is not too bad, but there is definitely some work to be done. I sent an email to SW1241 to ask for the pdf file in order to get cg locations, etc. I have a very good running Fox 3.2 that I was planning to put in it. Any suggestions???

I built a Byron Pitts S1 2 years ago from a very old kit and powered it with a 3W 28cc engine. This provided good scale like performance but not unlimited verticle. As far as the fire wall is concerned, it has been solid.

For all that return to this old thread:
No need to go to gasoline.... I get 1.5 oz per minute or so flying pretty hard with a SuperTigre 3250 and a Zinger 22x8 post-breakin prop.
Sounds nice, flies nice, AUW 14.5 lbs no cowl. ~15 lbs cowl and spinner in place.
