Smoke Problem
I'm having problems getting my Sullivan Skywriter (Slimline) smoke pump to pump slower. I'm using a 7.4v Li Ion battery for the power and I'm trying to target a 3~4 oz/min flow rate. The problem is I have to set the radio endpoint for this channel at about 25 to get the slowest flow rate possible to achieve 3~4 oz/min without the pump turning off - also the pump is activated from a switch.
This limits my abilty to slave the pump to throttle for different rates if only the slowest pump rate is the maximum flow rate needed to deliver the 3~4 oz/min.
I think my battery is a good voltage so whats the problem? Do I need to restrict the supply line to the muffler to create a larger pressure drop and make the pump work harder - therefore reducing the flow?
I'm using a 50cc DA with Slimline smoke Pitts and 15 oz smoke tank. The smoke lines have a filter on the tank side a and check valve installed on the supply to muffler.
It smokes great in the air at this flow rate - though, I need to slave to the throttle so when near idle the pump slows or turns off automatically.
Any ideas....
Thanks!

RE: Smoke Problem
Try less voltage. I'm using a 4.8 but it's a little too slow. I'm going to put a 5 cell pack and see how that goes. I think I will end up using a 2 cell lipo but just haven't got it yet.
