Nice looking design for the gear. You might want to consider heavier axles and wheel hubs for an airplane this size. I started out with 1/4" music wire and immediately found that I needed 5/16 heat treated axles and aluminum hubs to stand up under repeated landings.
Good luck on your project.

hi dave

the weight Should be 18-20 kg

about the canopi
you have no idea ,how to do the canopi
perhaps like this: [link=http://www.flyhi.org.il/vacrondelba.htm]http://www.flyhi.org.il/vacrondelba.htm[/link]
its in Hebrew ,but you can understand from the pics, how to do , home made vacuum forming.
use with vacuum cleaner.

here is Translation by Google for the Article:

Description The principle of the method.

Method Name: Design Bwakom - "Vacuum Forming"

Boards Flsteim common method used: According to - V - DC PVC (transparent), polystyrene - Polystyrene, I - me - ace - ABS, polycarbonate - Polycarbonate. All materials belong to this family of materials Htrmoflsteim. I mean, can be processed by heating cause material softening. After cooling, the material and receive the new form. In this situation, suspended curtain now received the form of model for a while, cooling the material. The next step is to extract a sample part is requested, cutting remaining plastic flying model and adjusting the model.

Sounds complicated? Actually a simple process and can be performed in domestic conditions as stated.

Well i wasent expecting that! thanks for that Amir,

I think you would have to have something a little special to mould such a large canopy? the plastic would stretch so much down the sides of the canopy it would be very flimsy, the old Royal Corsair ones were like that.

Your A.U.W. sounds low, shame you were not closer, you would save me a lot of balsa bashing!!

Keep up with the progress,

All the best,
Di n Dave....

Interesting project

Two questions:

1 Where do you get this package?

2 Do you think the landing gear is going to stay in the wing with only the gear plate glued to the foam without any other support to distribute the load?

this "package" made by a frind ,expert in bilding fiberglas rc planes
he made the that by a plans of cleveland models ,the size is similar to 3W bearcat.

the gear plate have arms that gose back to the center of the wing, and also conect to the main wood bar that go from side to side of the wing(under the veneer) in a fact that tow gear plate conect one to aech other.
