Default DOWNSIZING?

I have been flying for a while, in the hangar I have 15 quarter scale planes and 3 one-third scale, I fly every week and pull a enclosed trailer to the field which is close to my home.
I have seriously thought about downsizing and go to where I started back to 40 size models-load a couple of models in the car and just go fly.

Has anyone ever went back to smaller models and what was your experience in this action. Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you. As much as I like my 1/3 and 1/2 scale planes, I recently discovered the joy of small (40in.) electrics. As you say, it's nice just to grab a couple or more small ones and put them in the van and go fly.

Cheers,
Dave.

I too fly large & small, the small models being mostly electric & unmatched for convienience. I have a heap of batteries for a large, multi engined electric (which uses 3 x 3 cell packs) so it's good to give these packs some excercise now & then. Just take 3 or 4 charged packs with you & it's plug & play, all I take is model & transmitter case with batteries.

BUT, there is less thrill factor. This hobby to me is like a drug & I seem to need more & more, bigger & better. Once you get a taste for the bigger models everything changes. This way of thinking is repeated a lot in this thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9752556/tm.htm

A friend who flys turbine jets warned me that once you fly a jet everything else will not seem the same. Yeah, yeah I thought, he's just saying that. Until I bought one....................
