Dynaflite Chipmunk Help
I recently picked up a Dynaflite Chipmunk already built. It had a glow engine in it but I am putting a gas engine in it. If anyone has the plans, I need to know what the thrust line is. If someone can give me the distant from the top of the fuse at the firewall to the thrust line that would be great.
Jeff
Also, If anyone has a canopy or knows where I can get one, PLEASE let me know.

You should be able to get a real close idea by studying the cowl. The prop shaft hole in the cowl indicates where the thrust is taking place. Draw a line back along the fuselage, from the the center of the prop hole in the cowl.

Thanks for the tip. I am a little concerned about doing that because with the cowl installed, it looks likes something is out of alignment. It actually looks like it might have a slight amount of upthrust is the engine.

No, no upthrust ! Either 2 degrees down and right, or none at all. Sometimes this is just a personal preference, but 2 and 2 should get you into the ballpark. I'm thinkin that the person who built it, put the firewall at zero, zero, so that when you reference the cowl to the firewall, it is looking like upthrust. If he did put the firewall at zero zero, then you will need to shim the engine slightly down, and to the right, and then taylor the back of the cowl accordingly.

Jeff,
Don't know if you still need the thrust line on the Dynaflite Chipmunk, but if you do it measures 2-1/2" from the top of the fuselage at the firewall.
