Pushrods setups?

Does anyone have any pictures on how to hook up pushrods on a giant scale airplane? I am hooking up the ailerons servos on a 1/4 scale Gee Bee Y. From the servo to the control horn it is about 4 1/2 inches. I am use to using easy connectors and a clevis on my smaller planes but dont want to do that on this plane.

Du-Bro 440 ball links are your best bet. 4 1/2 inches is quite short so no real need for composite or hardwood dowel. Use a ball link on each end and you'll be fine.

Here is a picture of the linkage I used on my 29% Edge 540. Carbon rod, Titanium ends, and Dubro HD Ball Links. LInkage has been bulletproof for the several years the plane has been in service.

SunDevilPilot has a very good setup. If your on a limited buget you can use 4-40 all thread rod and slide it inside a CF tube and lock it in with 4-40 nuts on each end. Use 4-40 ball links on both ends.

Where do you get the carbon fiber tube? And what is the best way to run the other surfaces which are about 18 inches long?

I have been using the Central Hobbies CF pushrods:

Do the cf rods need braced?

RE: Pushrods setups?

I like Abell's design better than Central, the rod ends fit over the c/f pudhrod, helps to eliminate rod splitting from any side loading. As bracing goes, it's never a bad idea, not shure if you need it, depends on the load.

I like all those but what I dont understand is how to come out of the fuse. Do I have to come out with the whole rod or is there a way just to have a 4-40 rod come out? it would probably be about 5 inches outside of the fuse.
