Hello all...has anyone thought about converting the GP Pitts ARF to electric? I happen to have one that I had a gas engine on and had a little glitch mishap. Its sitting in the basement waiting for me to do something with it, so I decided to buy a new bottom wing (on order from tower) and patch it up and put a big Axi or Actro on it. Any suggestions to what motor, esc and batterys. I would go lipo as I have with some smaller planes but their still pretty expensive in the 10s range so I'll probably be talking 3300 nimh cells for now. Thanks in advance.

I dont remember exactly what it weighed with my Brison 3.2 on it but it was around 15 1/2lbs. That was also with a smoke pump, extra batt for it,tank etc so I'm guessing I can eliminate alot of that weight plus I'll use lighter servos. So maybe around 13 lbs if I'm lucky. Maybe carbon gear, drill out the firewall/engine box where there is heavy plywood but there is not a lot you can do with a arf to make it lighter. thanks again!
