Default Yellow aircraft extra 300S converted

Hi Fellow Converters!!
I thought I would share my little project to you guys...And also to get a little feedback..The kit is a Yellow Aircraft Extra 300S..54in. wingspan...wing area 491sq. in.....weight...5-6lbs...

Using...4 standard servos JR4131
770Pcm reciever
60Amp Castle Creation ESC
Eflite 46 outrunner
Battery 2100mah Apex cells 5S2p
720mah Nimh rx pack
Prop 13x8 or 14x8

What do you guys think of this set-up?? I am hoping to pull 40amps which would give me about 800watts of power for this plane...I am using this primarily to learn how to fly IMAC....Thanks, Dickson (Team JR Heli)

Hi Walt!!
Actually this is my first conversion....I just started getting into planes and find that the electrics are alot easier and require less support equipment than the glow...I have been flying fixed wings for about 6months but have been flying helis for about 10yrs now...These forums are a wealth of info so guys like me can make good decisions on what to use...I attached another picture of the motor mount...hope you guys like it....Dickson

Just an update...I finished it finally and it flies awesome..A little rudder to elevator coupling but straight as an arrow...The power with the Eflite 46 ...5s2p and 13x8E prop is awesome...Takes off in about 30-40ft....Unlimited vertical....Slow flight is a breeze with no tendency to snap...It has a very gentle stall...and landings are a breeze....It does have a long glide...Attached are some finished pictures...I had to mount the batteries inside the fuse for proper CG...Static WOT draws 66amps...888watts
I am assuming that in flight those numbers drop...So far I have limited my flights to 8min...but I believe it can be pushed to about 10min.
I am so excited that I finished this project I am looking forward to hopefully convert another one....Such as a YAK 54 or 55....
Dickson

Hey Dickson:

Nice job. In so little time you became an electronic pro. Can't wait to see more of conversions. Your flight report was very detailed and interesting, perhaps you should get someone to take videos because your presentation and analysis appears to be of professional quality. Really good!

Al
