I did a forum search for this, most posts either had no replies or was some 2 yrs old. With the rate of changes in electric hardware, I'd like to get some fresh ideas of what size motor, speed contollers, etc I would need to outfit a 40 size trainer, or maybe a 40 size bigstick. I not looking to make a speed-demon or stunt plane here, just something to play with. I have a bigstick ARF still waiting to outfit, or a Tower trainer that is ready for covering. The trainer's fuselage can be made even lighter with some creative carving, the wings are about as light as they can be.
I'm not real up-to-date on the lastest electric hardware, so feel free to educate me some. And while I'm not trying to do things on a beer budject, I don't want to spend a small fortune either. I do realize that it is wiser to spend some extra bucks wherer needed though.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hi go to www.victorvalleyrcflyers.com and then hit the newsletter button on top and look at them from April on. There are three articles on beginning electrics that will help you out. I would put an axi 2820-12 with 40 amp Jeti ESC and one 3 cell 3700 ma battery. I have this combo in a 81 inch Cub and works just fine. Also consider using separate receiver battery. Norm
