I’m helping my bro-in-law set up his Raidntech P-38. This will be the first plane either of us has built that has retracts, & the need to use a separate power source to power up the Rx & servos, UBEC? Question #1; Would tying 3 servos together, as in 3 landing gear retracts, into one channel so that all of the gear would be actuated with one switch cause any overloading problems? Too much current draw? Question #2; Are UBECs made with different current capacities to support fewer or more servos? This plane is looking to have 7 servos, 2 HS-55s, 1 HS-81, & 1 HS-81 MG & 3 retract servos, HS-75s I think. What size UBEC and Rx battery would be recommended for this set-up? We were thinking of using a 900mah 2 cell 10c lipo. TIA for any help.

You could pull power directly from the main power battery with the UBEC. The UBECs from Hobby Lobby are rated to operate up to 10 servos, 3 Amps continuous, 5 Amps for 5 minutes.
Is this the big or small Raidentech P-38? The small one will be pretty heavy with all those servos, and the big one really should use standard servos all the way around.

Thanks Matt for the reply. The plane in question is the smaller one, 53" span? There is a big thread at RCG about this plane and yes, many builds are a bit on the porky side. Most of the builds are from 3.5 to over 5lbs. Hopefully we'll come up somewhere in between. Most of the builders are using dual batteries we're going to try and do it with a single 3500 - 4000mah 3 cell. I'll check into the UBECs you mentioned. You say it uses the main battery for power? Does it plug in line with the ESC? I am still a bit confused. Thanks again for your time.
