I am new to planes in general I have a few electrics that I have built myself mosty foamies,... but I got my hands on a carl goldberg piper cub,.... I am really trying to stay away from glow powerd... Is there a way I can convert it to electric powered? I am trying not to spend any more that I need to but I dont want something that is gonna only fly for 5 minutes, or act like it could fall out of the sky at any minute...
any help is appreciated, on what size motor, battery, esc, and all that stuff

RE: Anniversary edition Piper Cub Conversion help
Yep.i am in the same spot.I have the 82"H9 cub.I have been told that I am on the right track poer wise.If i am wrong I hope some one corrects me as she should maiden next sunday.
My power is a Hacker A40 L 12 turn with a 16/8 wooden prop and a hacker 99 opto.all hooked up to a 18.8 volt 5000 mah lipo.It should move plain along pretty well.I would think this set up would work for yours.I like the Goldburg version better than the H9 as I believe it has plug in wings as apposed to mine wich has a one peice wing and saddle configuration.
