Hey guys,
I am in the process of building a sig wonder. I originally planned to put a 25 nitro on this thing. but the more i think about it, the more i want to start in electric.
To start out, i dont know anything about electric. and I've googled and tried to search as much as i could on the conversion for the Sig Wonder and cant find much information.
So, for the setup, it would be nice to have stuff ordered from Hobbycity.com since i'm gonna make a order their pretty soon. and i've been looking at their motors and they got good ratings from users and fairly cheap.
Here is some info about it..
The weight on the box is 26-38oz. but I am assuming that is with a glow engine mounted, they recommend a glow in the range of .09-.19 I would think 38oz. corresponds with the .19 sized engine but I'm not sure. I also don't know what a .19 sized engine would weigh.
This is the size of the fuse that i can fit stuff in.
Length: 11 1/4"
Width: 2 1/4"
Height: 2 1/4"
I've read some thread about conversion. And there is def a difference between a speed setup and a leisure flying setup. and i would love SPEED for this plane. Can anyone help me out? Thanks guys!

I have a Sig Wonder that I build, I was going to use an OS 15CV-A on it. But decided to go all electric, now I have a NIB OS 15CV-A that I need to sell. Anyways, I mounted up an E-flite Power 25 with a 40 amp Pro SB Brushless ESC. I have 2 3200 mah 3-cell batteries that I can use for it. I have not flown it yet, but I have everything balanced out and it should be ready to go. I mounted a 12x6 prop on it, and this thing pulls. Once I go out and get more time on a trainer again I will fly the Wonder. I haven't flown a plane in almost 8 years.

I had a Sig Wonder a few years ago and found it to be a very fast flier. I forget which motor I used but I think a hot 480 class motor will easily pull this plane around. This is a great plane for a conversion.

I just recently finished an electric Wonder. Full details can be found HERE, but the short answer is that I used a Turnigy 35-30B motor and Turnigy Plush 40A ESC, 3s Zippy battery and a 7x6 APC-e prop. I moved the firewall forward so the prop remained where it would have been with a glow engine; there's no way the plane would have balanced otherwise.
Mine might be a little bit slower than you're aiming for; it doesn't give me unlimited vertical or anything like that, but the performance is very respectable for sport flying and simple aerobatics. I very rarely find myself using full throttle, and a full-power low pass eats up the runway length pretty quickly. I'm not sure I'd be able to find a use for more speed in such a small plane, although I might be able to use more power in climbs. If you'd like to step things up to silly power levels, you might try a Turnigy 35-36B and perhaps a 9x6 prop. Make sure you provide for some cooling airflow across the speed controller.
Good luck and have fun; the Wonder is a great-flying little airplane!

Very nice wonder!
I think my wonder is powered with an .60 sized e-motor which is not the standard setup one is looking for
I light setup should be very nice as well!
Good luck!
