New OS FS-81-A pumped leaking at regulator
I just setup a new FS81-a pumped engine for break in, this is my first OS 4 stroke. When I started the engine rich, I immediately saw fuel spraying out of the regulator on the back of the carby, leaning the needle did not reduce the leak, which is a fairly large leak.
When I put a piece of fuel tubing on the input to the regulator/carb and gently pressurized it, I hear air coming out the face of the regulator.
I know, I should be calling Hobby Services, but it's the weekend[&o].
Any thoughts and advice, other than to not screw with it and void my warranty[:-]

RE: New OS FS-81-A pumped leaking at regulator
I hate to admit it, but the only reason that I went with the pumped version, was that it was cheaper on Towers website than the regular version. $349 for the pumped and $369 for the regular version[:-] Well, maybe my exposure to gas engines with pumped carbies made me want to try one also.
I guess I violated the KISS principle getting the pumper. I really wanted to try one of the Alpha series to see how the crankcase recirculating deal worked.
I guess it'll be making a trip back to Tower on Monday[>:]

Me, or the engine?
I did check all screws on the engine before setting it up, the fuel is just gushing out the face of the regulator, so the diaphragm must be bad.
I guess I just got lucky.
I guess I was just looking for some feedback on the pumped version of the engine, from someone who has had one for a while.
Cheers,
Pete

I hear you, I sure as heck wouldn't pay the $429 I've seen these usually go for, but $349 seemed like a good deal after adding in the ad discount of thirty bucks.
I really want to get it run in on the old 4 Star 60 until the season ends here in the north country, before putting it on a 1/5th scale Sig cub in "Flitfire" paint scheme I'm planning for a winter project.
