Default This Cant be Right...Right?

A buddy of mine gave me a plane that had a 46FXi...i heard they are basicly the same thing as the FX series just slightly different. well the compression is great, and ran OK, but not great... ive decided to swap out motors and old but more powerful st50... upon taking the 46 fxi out i looked in the exhaust port and its tiny, ive never seen that much sleeve showing through an exhaust port ever... is this normal>?

I first thought it was the boost port but it looks more like the rear Schnurle port.

The sleeve is turned 90 degrees. It may have a AX sleeve in the FXi ?

The only difference in a FX and a FXi was a low compression head

The sleeve locating pin for the FX is in the rear and on the AX it is above the exhaust port

The exhaust port should pretty well match the opening in the crankcase.

He may have destroyed the locating pin or it may have a AX sleeve in it?

Get back with us on what you find

Love this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of the users can be a bit of a pain (immature know-nothings) but there is a HUGE wealth of knowledge here. I can tell there are guys here that have been flying model airplanes longer than I've been alive (30 years) just by the way they conduct themselves in their posts. I'd rather talk to these guys than call the Manufacturer or Distributor to solve a problem..

Thanks to everyone that has replied to my many posts..

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
