Default Starting a Saito FA 300T-TDP

Guys,

I'm having some trouble starting a Saito twin (FA 300T-TDP). It floods out (hydrolocks) as soon as I connect the lines and flip the prop WITHOUT the ni-starts connected. Even with the high needles closed. It just drips a lot of fuel from the carb intakes and hydrolocks.

The plumbing is all correct as per the manual.

After clearing the flooding fuel and QUICKLY starting the engine it runs normally (still being broken in).

Also... after running it for the first (and only) time, we noticed that the left cylinder was way colder than the right cylinder, to the point of being totally "touchable". And I mean real COLD at the valve covers.

I'd really appreciate any help here...

Cheers,

Art Neto

First, the tank must be positioned too high and fuel is siphoning in to the carb.

If a cylinder is cold, it is lkely not running, have you tried to lean the carb on this side a little?

Hi rcdude,

The tank is mounted exactly at the carbs' height (it's a twin carb). I'll check the cylinder issue later today.

Thanks!
