Default MDS 40 problems

I'm really new to RC aircraft, I have been flying my plane now several times without a hitch, then today I went out to fly and with my MDS 40 engine everytime I remove the glow stick the RPM's fall slightly and the engine died alot.....

as long as I left the glow stick on it ran like a champ, just when I removed it, I then replaced the glow plug, and had some guys that tuned the needle valve, the plane flew great at times but would just die.......

not sure what else to try any other help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Jeramy

You need the help of your fellow flying friends.

Sounds as though it was 100 degrees there and your needle valve needed to be set a little richer.

The first glow plug went south of the border probably because the engine was run too lean.

Enjoy,

Jim

Yeah it was hotter than a firecracker on the 4th of july today, and the guys out here at the local flying field are great about helping eachohter out, this one stumped everyone however, upon some research about these engines if the seal between the engine and the carberator has been torn or worn out at all it could cause problems.......since my problem is ONLY on the high end when the seal takes its worst beating I'm sure.

Gonna order some of these seals and get that changed out, hopefully that will get me going in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply!

Jeramy
