Default Horizon Hobby's new web site

I received an email from Horizon wanting me to preview their new website. Ihave cursed their site for a few years when it came to ordering parts for my Saito engines. My hats off to them on the new site. No more engine codes and parts list and trying to figure out what the Horzion PNwas for a part. Bring up your engine and ALL the parts for that engine show up.

I haven't checked out the rest of the site as I'm usually there for engine parts.

I got that e-mail a few days ago. Filled out the survey, and got a 10% discount coupon for my time.

I never liked the change they made last time. The new website, however, I like very much!

They still need to work some bugs out, for example on the "Specs" tabs not all of them are filled out yet. At first I thought they had changed the Specs format and I really cranked at them for it in my survey response but I have since seem some other Specs paging being filled out like normal.

I also like the new "Quick Look" thing that shows all the various photos as well as videos along the bottom, and the zooming and 360° viewing.

Silly me - went to the Horizon site, selected Radio Control - Engine Parts - Saito - SOS

Oh, you mean Radio Control - Parts Finder - em, there's the mfg &amp; model list selection - better<br type="_moz"/>

They've changed the search engine on their site a half dozen times in the last 10 years. Seems they always swapped bad for worst until about a year ago. I hope they did not go worse again.

I went and roamed around a little on the site.

I must say that it works like it should

Why don't they just put airplane parts under the airplane section,
and engine parts under the engine section.
Having a separate section for "Parts" just seems silly, to me.

I think they are somewhat better, a step in the right direction. Their catagories just seemed incomplete and products not lined up in the past. Very difficult to browze. Its better, still not as good as towers layout. I told them cascading drop down menus would be helpfull and real descriptions. One of the planes I looked at specs on had two different wingspans (48" to 60")??, and many other seagul planes had no size specs to speak of. Still seems like the catagories were setup by someone that isnt familiar with rc.

I talked to a group of Horizon guys about the crazy site a few years ago and they seemed as frustrated as me?

The site seemed to be geared towards the woman, not knowing anything about models, looking to buy something exciting for her kid or husband?

The Horizon site's search engine worked much better in the dealer mode.

It is actually pretty good now compared to what it was for several years,

The Tower site has been better as fas as search goes but is full of miss information.

Jim, I remember that Tower had the bore and stroke of the Fuji 50 reversed making it appear like a long stroke engine, I had the Mustang 50 that was a rebadged Fuji 50 sold by Byron's and it was wrong in the Byron's manual too. You could hardly blame Tower for that though as Fuji must have given it to everyone wrong.

I just checked, they have it correct now but the 50 is discontinued.
