Moki / Mark Engines Availability?
#2
Yes they still make engines. Unfortunately they cannot sell engines in the USA using the MOKI brand name so they sell them in the US using the Mark brand name instead.
Hobby Club is one source for them http://www.hobbyclub.com/

According to the Hobby Club and Hobby People websites, they offer only the MARK gasoline engines. I have been flying the MARK 1.35 glow engine for over 2 years and it's one of the finest engines I've ever had. It's a shame that MARK/MOKI doesn't have a major distributor importing these engines and providing parts and service. Perhaps this is due to the growing popularity of electric airplanes.

This is a rather interesting read from Moki in Hungary as to why there's some confusion with Mark/Moki.

Personally, I prefer glow for it's simplicity. Mokis run fine on 0% or 5%, so it's a matter of keeping the fuel costs reasonable, which can be accomplished if you buy your fuel in case quantity or mix it yourself.
If you want a new Moki/Mark, keep an eye on the classifieds, they pop up occasionally.

Yes there is a limited repertory of new 2S 1.8 & 2.1 engines, but try finding a place that reps/sells parts in USA. Some people believe Dave Patrick will but every search I've done shows he no longer exists.
It would be a shame to see this magnificent power plant eventually go dinosaur.
