Default Nipple tapped into the venturi

I have seen a few control line engines with a nipple tapped into the throat of the venturi. What's the purpose of that?

Default RE: Nipple tapped into the venturi

G'day

Some free flight models use a "flood off" system to rapidly stop the engine at the end of a timed flight.

I have also seen team race engines with primers though usually they are set up to squirt fuel on the piston.

I have a Saito four stroke radial which has a primer nipple on the carby and it is very handy when the engine is inside a cowl.
