Did anyone ever have one of these engines? How did they perform over the standard FS 70?


This engine had a pump and slide valve carb

I had one and hated it, but I think a later version came out that might have been improved. Mine did though have the blue top. Could never get it to run consistently after months of trying. Also had the cheap FL version of the 70 FS and it was about as bad. Then moved to the Surpass II (black tops) and have loved those. Reliable and powerful enough and long lasting. I have had 3 of them plus one more in the box, and all have been purchased used but in excellent condition. Jon
