G'day

I just did a rough count of mine. I stopped at 55. The most used are the Saito, Enya, OS and Laser four strokes. My favourites are the Lasers and Saitos though the OS four strokes are nice and the dear old LA 46 is a great simple engine for a trainer. My little Enya 36 four stroke is a favourite too.

Saito (15), OS (10), Enya (10), Laser (3), PAW (3), Taipan (5), ASP (2) plus an assortment of others.

Just totted up my stash ... 19 engines, in total. They range from 2cc diesel to 36cc glow.

Of those, only 6 are in models. And that's too many models, really. I don't like having too much "stuff"; it gets under my feet. I really need to thin out the herd, but I haven't got any "crap" that I'd be happy to part with. (which is not to imply that I don't have some tatty planes. I do, but they fly so well.)

Thing is, I just like engines ... it's a continual struggle to resist acquiring more; even though I know that I won't use them.

I think that Enya are my favourites, though.

I've more than enough to last me for as long as I'm likely to live.

I have around 200. Only 20 of those are in planes. I go thru them about 3 times a year to re-oil them. I am always running one on the bench, testing carbs, and different exhaust set ups. It is a great hobby for sure!

The big guns will have a good showing, but I try to keep it a little interesting as it is only a sub hobby. Things like Saito twin or a HP .21, FSR anything I will jump on if right price. I got a K&B 6.5 front/rear that is from John Perry that is said to have used to mock up the carb with. I dont have 300 engines but I have an eclectic 30. It competes with the Kraft radios as a sub hobby.

I have many engines. I have tried to thin the herd. I go through my engines and fondle them and put them back. Maybe I'll get rid of one now and then. In recent history, I have bought more engines than I have sold.

I have a tendency to regret selling some of my engines. I wind up missing them. So the engines tend to stay with me for the most part.

+100 different engine models, and then I have several of the favorite ones. Flying is just an excuse to get to run and fiddle with engines...

Ya, same deal here.  I have mostly smaller ones like you too (Mr. Cox)   I have started to get a few larger ones like .46's just because it is so windy here at the new abode, and I wouldn't get much flying done otherwise. I still like the .15 to .21 size the best. Bunch of Cox in most sizes over .049, Supertiger .15 to .75, Rossi .15's, Norvels .049 to .15, MVVS, K&B .29RR and some old .40's, CS, Picco, and McCoy.049's,  a few OS LA .10, .15, .40, .46.  Bunch of old Fox .35's that I can't use any more (mufflers)  a Fox .15BB which is the only Fox I like, Enya .19 (yuck),  old Enya .35 (ok) just one Fora .15 (yum), Ucktam .15's, T Tigers, Magnums, ASP's...

Let's see. Just the F2D engines:

3 or 4 Foras
2 Zalps
1 Cyclon PC1
1 Cyclon PC7
2 Kodzjol Profis
2 ca. 2005 Profis

All in all, too many TYPES...

The other engines? Good grief - I'd lose count if I tried to count them all. Several Norvel .061s, a couple of VA .049s, lots and lots of Cox stuff, four LA .15s, at least a dozen FP .15s, a half dozen ASP .15s - and that's not all, not even close. Don't know what I'd do with it all.

Iskandar
