You know I bet there is some kind of affordable alarm system we could get for are garages and sheds to help prevent petty theft, might have to look in to that

Whatcha got for models both air and surface? I have 4 cars - 2) Losi LST2's, a Traxxas Jato 3.3, and a Traxxas Nitro Rustler 3.3. I have a Norvel trainer 1/2a plane and a Mig-27 Target Drone plane, and the rest are airboats I scratchbuilt. I swap most of my aero engines around amongst my airboats... Gets runtime on them so they're good and broke in when I'm ready to fly them.

Hanger 9 funtana 40, Funtana 100x, hanger 9 Tribute .36 profile, Twist 60 and 40, edge 540 .90 Great planes Extra 300 .40, edge 540 profile .40 CMP cap 232 .36 Accel hobbys GS40 katana profile, there's at least 6 more planes, I have 3 Ofna Hyper 7 PCR edition buggys, a ofna hyper 8.5 pro, another hyper 7.5 PBS, a Sworkz S350 BK1 race buggy, an Associated MGT 8.0 MT, a Cen Matrix TR arena Truggy, there's a few more partial buggys for parts or even running condition that I picked up cheap on eBay, 12 years of collecting this stuff and I feel I have more then I need. My wife is very supportive of my hobby. But that's only because she thinks a GS warbird only costs a couple hundo. So, if my hanger ever got broken in to, I couldn't claim it on homeowners if I wanted to. Imagine the looks Id be getting as I was saying,
" giant scale corsair, -----------$2500
giant scale P-51, ---------$2100
giant......

you know the rest........
she may not be so supportive after that.

Holy Hannah! Yes, you do! I have a competition/race Ron Paris Novarossi buggy engine but no buggy to put it in. Know of a good basher buggy model that's reasonably priced? A lot of guys suggested an 8ight 2.0 or something like that. I've been doing rc for 18 years now? Maybe 17? It's crazy what you accumulate in that kind of time frame.

Do those figures include the time building and setting up? That time has a dollar amount attached to it as well. Doesn't help the situation with the Mrs. knowing or not knowing but...

Actually that's why I have the Hyper 7s, definitely not a race buggy but great for bashing, tough as hell and super easy to get parts for

I don't race, I just got a race engine because the price was right. If I can't sell it, I'll put it in a buggy or Truggy. Id have to buy a bump
box though. I thought about putting a prop adapter on it and running it in a plane or something, but I'm undecided. It's keeping the rest of my engines company in the drawer.

No. That's just material to build. I rarely fly arfs, mostly kit and scratch built giant scale stuff. My corsair was at least $2500

I have a Kyosho Assault. Will that engine fit on that buggy? LOL I also have an original Frog buggy, Electric, but can it be converted to glow? again LOL.

A .21/3.5cc will fit pretty much any 1/8th scale buggy or monster truck. So yes it would. LoL. It's not your average engine though - the renowned engine guy Ron Paris racing had Novarossi build it to their specs and further modified it for racing. It's a very well made engine... And expensive. It retailer for over $400 new back in 2001 and it's still new/unrun. Trying to sell it to finance other engines I can use. So far, nobody has had interest in it except the lowball eBayers.

So, I've come across a few tight liners since I started messing around with glow engines, but this one is really tight. I tried heating up in the oven with no avail. Alright guys, who's got my easy trick? You Tim? Your usually the first to answer. Lol.

Steve, heat is your friend. The MDS .40 we pulled the P/L from for the FrankenFox mod was incredibly tight. We had to get it really hot in the oven 350-375F for 15-20min and we still needed persuasion getting it out. HOT crankcase, Popsicle stick in the exhaust port, sacrificial prop bolted on, and turn. Once the liner lifted, we had to carefully pry up on the liner to get it out. It went into the oven twice if not three times IIRC. That is if you meant the liner was tight coming out of the case.

Are you saying I post too much or shouldn't be the first to respond? J/K! Haha!

" are you saying I post too much or shouldn't be the first to respond?"

Hell no brother, I'm saying that I can always count on your knowledge and experience when I find myself scratching my head. Often times I thought to myself that you should be GLOWHEAD #1. You, and probably most of the 99 brothers have more experience and time in hobby than I. I've only been glowing since "05"

I'm no expert. I've read enough RC related content over the years that I have a solution for a lot of things despite not having experienced all of it personally. I've been doing this stuff for over 16 years, but the first 10-11 were strictly car related. Regardless, I'm almost always willing to stick my nose in.

And even if you offered to switch numbers, I'd decline. You started the club, it's your baby. .

Well I suppose I just needed to cook her a bit longer. I went to pull it out of the oven and the damn liner fell out. My wise arss wife says, " well that didn't look too tight. " gee, thanks. I gotta cook engines more often. My house smells lovely.

glad it worked and yes, the smell is lovely. I'm burning some castor tomorrow. Spiked gasoline mix with glow fuel. Gasoline engines like nitromethane too!!

So my favorite glow engine sound is a O.S 46AX with a tower pipe and a 12 1/4 x 3 3/4 APC prop on a full throttle fly by running 30% heli, it makes a certain high pitched scream that is music to me ears

My wife is wonderful about my hobby, but the smell of cooking engines in the kitchen is one thing she just does not appreciate. I wait till she's out of town for a couple days, and then I air it out real well.

My wife is pretty cool about it as well, she only gets mad when over a period of about a year i will be tinkering with this and that and so she finds my rc stuff here there and wherever I might have put it down and forgotten it, I keep all my rc cars in my office where my gaming rig is and the treadmill, that drives her absolutely nuts cause my pc desk is covered with buggy parts, I started tearing down a hyper 7 and rebuilding it with big bore shocks and pillow ball suspension and every other hop up I could find so my desk has been this way for about 8 months now

My wife would rather me be at home helping with the boy. But she appreciates me having something I love to do that isn't going to the bar or nudie bar.

I'm out ice fishing today. On a frozen river no less.
