Default HP 61 - need a a ring for the engine

Anyone holding a piston ring for the HP61 that they would like to part with ?

Can a ring from another engine be used in that engine ?

Where is Frank Bowman when we need him ?
Sure miss that gentelman and the ring replacement service he use to provide

Enjoy

Check with Gavin Carter - Gaviscool on eBay. He makes a large selection of piston rings and has a good reputation. He is in the UK though.

I've bought r/c and radio gear from England many times and it was always a good experience. Their postage rates seem to be some of the lowest in Europe too. I had a large roof antenna on backorder and when they ran production on that model they shipped mine overnight. It really did make it overnight too. It must have cost them a fortune, but that's typical of my experiences doing business with English companies.

So often just installing a new ring can bring a glo engine back to life and run like new yes!

Quite right. Just before Frank Bowman retired, I nabbed spare rings for all of the then-current ringed engines I owned so I had them when I needed them. Since then I've obtained three more ringed engines - two of which I need to find replacements for. Gavin makes them, but I am not in a hurry to obtain them.
