I have a Byron K&B Ducted Fan Engine, model 9549 that I am going to try to sell for a friend. He is deceased and had a hobby shop so I am
trying to sell his inventory. I'm not that familiar with Ducted Fan. This one has some type of electrical output device, possibly a tachometer
that is driven by a gear reduction device. The Tach, or whatever it is, is about 2 inches long and maybe 1 inch in diameter.
Can anyone tell me what this device is and what it is used for?? Also, any idea of it's worth??
It is new, in box.
Thanks for the help!

Your explanation seems to be the most plausible and I had not thought
of that at all. It fits in with the gear reduction, etc. It looks very similar
to the photo you posted,
Thanks!
