Good afternoon,
I'm really intrigued with the recoil start, heli version of this motor. According to my own research, there's very little to no information online about this motor.
If you own or have any experience with this motor, I would appreciate your opinions!

so, he wanted to know about the "engine" not the pull start, if it's the same engine (without the pull start and Heli head) couldn't he get some info from that video
here is the info he listed,,
I run the MECOA .46 with 6 different props;
1) 9x6 Zinger,
2) 9x7 Master Airscrew,
3) 9x8 REV-UP Pylon,
4) 10x6 APC,
5) 10x7 Master Airscrew
6) 11x6 APC.
Fuel was 15%. The air temp. was 40 degrees. An OS A3 glow plug was used. Engine is ABC construction with Schnuerle porting and a boost port. Advertised HP is 1.4 at 17,000 rpm with a tuned pipe and 20%.
Results:
1) 9x6 14700,
2) 9x7 15000,
3) 9x8 13980,
4) 10x6 13470,
5) 10x7 13470,
6) 11x6 11280.
The Master Airscrew props run faster because they flex.
looks like some good info there

BTW, the guy used an OS #A3 Glow Plug,, the OS #7 is a bit cooler than the #A3, yet still hotter than the OS #8, he may pick up another 300 to 400 RPM (maybe more) with the OS #7

That only gives mediocre performance, about the same as an LA.40. I checked a bunch of various size motors over the years and haven't lost the notes yet. The M Airscrew props have a lower pitch than advertised which gives a few more revs than an APC. Not always a bad thing, but something to know. I wonder what the MECOA motor is taken from, a K&B? If so, maybe the head takes the longer reach plugs from the "old" days, rather than the mid reach OS/Enya types. That could slow things a bit as well. I don't recall any .46 motors with a pull start. Seems kind of like a nice option.
