OS G5 glow plug

Default OS G5 glow plug

Hi everyone for those in the know how.can you get away with using a 1.5 volt igniter on the glow plug instead of the required 1.2 volts that you use on a regular glow plug.can you burn out the filament on the OS g5 by going 1.5 volts thanks

Glow plugs are either for 1.5V or 2V (but 2V is not common these days). There is no plug designed for 1.2V. When a 1.2V NiMh or NiCd battery is fully charged the voltage will be higher than 1.2V, that's why we can use that to start engines (but they need to be nearly fully charged).
