Default Help with Tartan twin

I just picked up a NIB glow version, and would appreciate any advice for setting it up for regular use. Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

0% (Zero%) Nitro !!!!!!!!!!!, some say no more than 3% Nitro.
as for set up just treat it like any other glow engine. if it has never been started make sure you start it with 6 or 8% oil, use a hot plug.
and prop it to run around 7800. ( 9000 is too much for the crank they say.

Sound advice Wasp, thanks! I have all of my Big Super Tigres running on 12% castor blend with 0% nitro already, so I can dilute it a little and get an 8% blend. I want to adapt the intake to a DLE61 setup that I have on hand, and need some parts if available. Another question is about the prop mounting, it seems the bolt circle is huge, and I hope there are props with a big enough hub.

Be aware the glow version has been known to cough at low idle, backfire and reverse direction. I never owned the twin but I did have a single pull that trick, luckily on the ground. Jim Odinno had a twin do it as well. Mine had done it a few times on the trst stand, I thought it was cured however. I converted it to spark ignition and never looked back. Nice engines, Mine was stolen locally, turned up on eBay 22 years later. It had several custom parts and was very easily recognized.
Very nicely made with fine, magnesium alloy castings. They were designed for a line of gasoline powered portable industrial tools from what I read at the time, around 1983.

Yeah, I've seen mention of the backwards running several times now, I'll have to keep that in mind!

Did you buy back your stolen engine? That would be ironic if you did!

Oil; I forgot to add in my post that I had a Tartan manual and a flyer and 1 said to use 6% and the other said 5% oil. I figured 8% for brake in because it's dual ringed
