Question 2 stroke and 4 stroke fuel

Hi everyone,
Where do you buy 2/4 stroke fuel?
Is there any instructions on how to make it yourself?

The original fourstroke fuel had less oil 12-15% where two stroke fuel was 16-20%. Now YS and Saitos need higher oil contents. Most OS and Enyas can still run with a little less oil. Glow fuel is a mix of methanol, oil, and nitro.

RC Airplane 4 Cycle - S-W Fuels

A choice that works, you can get a 10% nitro methane blend if you order it. It does well at 17% lube. PS, He ships quickly.

Where do you live?

Mixing your own is an option as well. A lot depends on availabilty of the components in your area. The oil can be found reasonably priced online. The methanol and nitromethane are hard to source nearby in some areas or just around the corner in other areas.

Where home blended fuel is an option, you can usually not only save money but get exactly the fuel you want and actually know for certain what is in the fuel.

I have been running a very easy to mix 14% nitromethane , 14% oil for years. The oil works out to 12% sin-thetic , 2% castor (for benefit of the cam/lifters and anti-rust). At 2%, gumming, varnish doesnt happen!

Blend 5 gallons of methanol, 1 gallon nitromethane and one gallon oil. Seven gallons of 14% / 14% fuel that works just great in mid-size Saito four stroke / cycle engines. Around here I usually get that mix for about $14 / gallon.

Many years on that fuel, totally trouble free.

All set for next season.

Be careful with using castor with YS engines. The small ports in the carb can easily get gummed shut with castor oil fuels

Running YS since 1978. At 2% to 4% castor content, 20% total oil without having problems with "small ports" plugging up. Or any "ports" for that matter.
Perhaps a problem with a specific model (?) There are some models with direct injection that may not tolerate large doses of castor.

However, must also mention that the 14% that I have used in OS, Saito and Enya four strokes would a bit light on oil for most YS four strokes as well as many two strokes.
The YS is looking for 20% oil.
