GMS .75 & 1.20....
I'm considering these two engines, the .75 for my Four Star 60 (replacing an OS .61), and the 1.20 (replacing an OS .91 four stroke) for my Goldberg 68" W.S. Extra 300. Anybody here have experience with these engines? The price seems right, and the advertised power looks good......

RE: GMS .75 & 1.20....
I love my GMS 1.20's I have one on a Stinger 120 and one on a GP G202. They are just short of having the power (200,300 RPM short) of my Webra 1.20 but they are much more user friendly. They start easy, run steady, and never quit (no dead sticks yet). and for $130 plus two junkers for trade-in you can't beat the price (from MECOA).

RE: GMS .75 & 1.20....
These engines have Dykes rings in them. To just casually bring one through the compression stroke, (What compression?) they will feel very weak. But if you flip them real fast or use a starter, they will feel normal.
The Dykes ring is a low tension ring that uses the compression itself to force the ring out.
Enjoy,
Jim

You should like the 120 in the Goldberg Extra. I am on my second Extra, both with Webra 120s, which I believe are a little stronger than the GMS, but the GMS should still be a very nice combination. Try APC 16x8 or 15x12 props, with 10% fuel. Great airplane, you'll love it!
