Default Evolution .46 Remote Needle ?

Ok folks, I have an Evolution .46 in an Alpha trainer. Wanting to know if I can "86" the remote and put it directly on the carb. It's got a plug/bolt on the carb opposite the throttle. Can this be done on this engine, let alone any other engine with a removable plug/bolt?

LJM:

According to pictures in the ads, the Evo uses the same carb as the Magnum. Wouldn't be surprised if the Evo was also made by CS. If it is as pictured, yes, the needle can be installed where it should be. See pictures.

I have just been corrected - CS does not make Magnum/ASP/etc, is it the Sanyea company.

Comments on needle valve, though, still hold.

Bill.

PS: Thanks for the info, W8YE. wr.

Do you think this will "accurize" tuning a little more or should I leave well enough alone?

LJM:

You will always have a small amount of control degradation by using any remote, but if it works OK in the remote position and you want to leave it, why not?

At the same time, if you want it up front move it and see how you like it.

It's yours, do it your way.

Bill.
