GoldenAge, we speak the Queen's English in Cali. The proper way to phrase it is "Where it are?" "Where am it" would be acceptable also.

Martin,
Thanks for posting the image! What a beauty!! It would look even better with a scaled vintage Hughes Racer around it

OK, I thought about it for a couple of minutes and I'd be willing to part with BOTH testicles for it.[X(] It'd be worth it....

Since we're talking about the Anatomy-Finance-Plan: Who's gonna give you enough bucks for the balls? Try to sell a kidney... Might be a better plan... Or sell both. Then you can at least operate your dialysis pump in a most fashionable way...
Now it's getting a bit sick, I guess. So let's stick to dicussing extra body matters. Like: What kind of airplane do you fantasize about, when seeing the picture of the double-star?
Cheers Martin

A friend of mine has one and no, I don't know the price and as they say, if you must ask, you can't afford it.
Here are some photos

I think I'd like one of these in something Golden Age. I've always been partial to a Waco Bipe and a Staggerwing....
I'll research the kidney thing.... Maybe my brain would do, I'm not really using it anyway...

Hi Dave,
yeah, those are beautiful airplanes. But both had only single row 9-cyl Radials. So why put a double radial in them? Seidels 7-cyl (the big one ore the small one) would be great engines for those airplanes. But what great airplanes actually had double radials? I think, there was a DC-3 version, then fighters, like the FW 190 or the Corsair. (The Corsair had One Pratt-Whitney R-2800-18W Double Wasp eighteen-cylinder radial engine, developing 2,100 hp (1,567 kW) for take-off, 1,950 hp (1,455 kW) @ 23,300 ft (7,101.8 m), 2,450 hp (1,828.4 kW) for "War Emergency". ) That same engine was used in the P-47 Thunderbolt and the F6F-Hellcat. Of course one would not see much of the engine in those airplanes. But that's understatement! To know, it's there! And for example in a big F4-U Corsair on it's high legs just imagine the sight when looking straight into the cowl! And the eyes popping, as spectators suddenly realize just what they are eyeballing...
Let's keep on dreamin'

Hi Doug,
Dave's friend seems to have that very Seidel Engine. Without the ring muffler it's weight is 26.5 lbs.
Cheers, Martin

Yeah Martin, I know they're single row engines. I'm a hot rodder and Tim Taylor is my hero... MORE POWER!!!
For a double row plane I'd have to put one in a P-47. IMHO it's an elegantly designed plane in the early razorback configuration.

Hi Dave,
yes, that would be it! Elegant, brute, big and beautiful! What do you think how big it would have to be?
Here's a great old picture:
