I have an OS .91 FX on a Great Planes XTRA 300 (kit)60 size. Needless to say, it flies great........but I seem to be having overheating problems now that the local temp is in the mid 80's at the field.
She starts easy, runs smooth, and then suddenly dies (at full throttle), usually as I'm taking off or climbing out ! When I feel the head it seems quite hot, but I don't know what "too hot" feels like ? Cowling off is the same. I'm using a Bisson Pitts muffler.
I've tried plugs...no difference. I've been using 10% or 15% Omega green fuel. One of my buddies suggested Helo fuel with lots of oil...??
Anyone had a similar problem? I'd appreciate hearing about it.
Thanx, Ticonderoga

Make sure you are not using the Bison muffler for the OS61-91FX, instead their is a Bisson muffler for OS91fx. I had the 1st one and had nothing but problems. The 61-91 is quite a bit smaller than the one designed for the 91fx. Good luck, Daz...
