Wow, this thread has been gone over more than once before. The general opinion was that the Mag is a torquier engine to swing a big prop. Big sport type planes, a big stick of something. The OS 1.08 will spin a smaller prop much faster. Better suited for say, a midget mustang, prop jet, etc. Do a search, and you'll find loads of info.:

Well, that lowered the level of the conversation.
I own both engines and both run very well. The OS is several ounces heavier. My scale buddies like them because they have to add less weight to the nose of the plane. Both of mine start in usually 1 back flip. Never have had to use a starter. Both have been very reliable and have never quit in the air.
I also own an OS .91FX and a Magnum .91XLS. The previous post might be applied to the former. All four of these engines have been in my old, heavy Joss Stick. The best performance came from the Magnum .91XLS. The OS never would run steady enough for me to get a consistent evaluation. Both .91s are very light in comparison to the 1.08s so the power to weight ratio is better. And the CG is further back. The 1.08s will turn a large prop.

Suitcase:
The Magnum 1.08 is an excellent engine. Ed Moorman and I both know a local fellow with one on a Joss Stick, never an engine problem.
If you must spend the price of the OS, drop the money on a Saito.
Bill.

Well thanks for the responses fellows, the deal is we have purchased from one of the guys at the club an old used Goldberg Extra 300 complete with servos and rx. bat no good. We need an engine for it. We have a OS 91 4 stroke and it doesn't fit good enough. We were told that the 108 would be perfect. I just didn't know if the OS was worth the extra $100 over the Mag. Watchathink?
